Steps to Apply for Credentials
Step 1
Credentialing Pre-App Form
Click the applicable link below to fill out the Application Form. Once we receive the completed form, a member of SCHD Credentialing office will be in contact with you.
Step 2
Credential Application & Fee
The credential application and payment link will be emailed to you.
Credential application fees are as follows:
- First time Credential $125
- Upgrade to Licensed $120
- Upgrade to Ordained $115
- Reinstatement $200
Once a completed application is received by our office, a member of the SCHD Credentialing team will be in contact with you.
Step 3
Credential Exams
After application, application fee, and all your reference forms have been received along with a satisfactory background and credit check, you will schedule the credential exams with the District office.
Credential exams are available in English and Spanish. Inform our office of your language preference.

Step 4
Credential Interview
After successful completion of the credential exams, you will be scheduled for the credential interview with the SCHD Executive Presbytery.
Interviews are held in January, April, and September.
With the approval of the Executive Presbytery and review of all documents by the SCHD Secretary/Treasurer Office, your application will be sent to the General Council for final review.
Step 5
Credential Review & Recognition
Upon approval from General Council, we will notify you and present you with your Assemblies of God Fellowship Card and Certificate.
Newly Certified, Licensed, Upgraded Licenced and Ordained Mininsters are recognized in the summer at the SCHD District Council or SCHD Ministers Retreat.
*Steps 1-3 must be completed and sent to the district office by the following dates in order to schedule your interview for the next Executive Presbytery meeting.
January 31 for April Interview
June 30 for September Interview
October 31 for January Interview

Certified
- Bible Knowledge Exam:
- Study Guide
- Study Guide in Spanish
- Use of Bible, Concordance, or Notes – NOT Permitted
- Doctrine Exam:
- Study Guide
- Study Guide in Spanish
- Use of Bible without concordance or notes – Permitted
Licensed*
- Polity Exam:
- Polity Study Guide
- Polity Study Guide in Spanish
- Use of General Council Constitution and Bylaws without notes – Permitted
*First time applicants at the Licensed level will take all exams: Bible Knowledge, Doctrine, and Polity. Licensed upgrade applicants will take only the Polity Exam.
Ordained
Most applicants will not take an exam at this level. However, there are circumstances that will require Ordained level applicants to take the exams.
